Volleyball drops match to U.T.-Dallas

RICHARDSON, Texas – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor volleyball team dropped a 3-0 match to U.T.-Dallas Friday evening in Richardson. The loss dropped the Cru to 19-5 on the season and 11-2 in American Southwest Conference action while the Comets improved to 16-8 overall and 10-4 in conference play.

The Comets took early control of the match with a 25-16 first-set win and followed that with a 25-14 second-set victory. UMHB put up a fight in the third, but was unable to catch the Comets, falling 25-23 in UTD's 3-0 victory.

Natasha Evans led the Cru with nine kills while Lauren Powell and Abby Voskuil each added seven. Evans and Kendall Pye led UMHB with 13 assists each while Shelby Prather added 11. Defensively, Evans led the Cru with 18 digs while Kendra Feldmann added 13 and Voskuil had ten. UMHB totaled 39 kills, 67 digs and four team blocks.

UMHB returns to action Saturday, October 25th in a 2 p.m. match at the University of Texas at Tyler. The Cru returns home next weekend with a 7 p.m. match against East Texas Baptist on Friday, October 31st.
