AUSTIN, Texas – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor volleyball team swept Concordia Texas 3-0 Friday night in Austin, earning a 25-18, 25-14, 25-17 win over the Tornados. The Cru improved to 11-3 on the season and 3-0 in American Southwest Conference action while the Tornados fell to 6-5 overall and 2-1 in conference play.
Cheyenne Dowdey and Bianca Patterson each led the Cru with 10 kills while Lauren Powell added seven and Abby Voskuil hit six. Shelby Prather assisted 21 kills while Kendall Pye added 13 assists. In the Cru's defense, Kendra Feldmann led all athletes with 19 digs with Powell adding 14 and Pye recording ten. As a team, UMHB hit 43 kills for a .339 hitting percentage, adding 55 digs and six team blocks. The Cru limited Concordia to 26 kills for a .107 hitting percentage.
UMHB returns to action Tuesday, September 23rd in a 6 p.m. match at Howard Payne University in Brownwood. The Cru returns home on Friday, September 26th to face U.T.-Tyler at 7 p.m. in the Mayborn Campus Center.
