AUSTIN, Texas – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor women's soccer team grabbed a 2-0 win over Concordia Texas Saturday evening in Austin. The win improved the Cru to 6-2-1 on the season and 4-0-0 in American Southwest Conference action while the Tornados fell to 1-8-1 on the season and 1-3-0 in conference play.
Nicole Burgett gave the Cru the game-winning advantage with a goal in the 51
st minute with an assist from
Allison Porter. UMHB held that lead until the 83
rd minute when
Sarah Rempe scored an insurance goal for a 2-0 win.
Kathryn Parker led the Cru with five shots while Burgett added three and
Briana Hester had two. UMHB totaled 16 shots, putting seven on goal.
Courtney Craig earned the shutout win in the goal for the Cru, playing a full 90 minutes with three saves. Concordia totaled three shots with three on goal.
UMHB continues play Friday, October 9
th in a 1 p.m. match at Hardin-Simmons University in Abilene.
