BELTON, Texas – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor women's soccer team earned a 4-0 win over University of the Ozarks Saturday afternoon in Belton. The win improved the Cru to 11-3-1 on the season and 8-1-0 in the conference play while Ozarks fell to 5-10-2 overall and 4-5-0 in American Southwest Conference action.
Amanda Carlough gave the Cru an advantage in the 41
st minute off an assist from
Elissa Freberg.
Sarah Rempe scored an insurance goal for the Cru in the 73
rd minute with an assist from
Nicole Burgett for a 2-0 UMHB advantage. Freberg added a goal in 85
th minute followed by another Carlough goal in the 88
th minute for the 4-0 victory.
Carlough led the Cru with two goals while Rempe and Freberg each added one. Freberg had a team-leading two assists followed by
Sarah Kopp and
Nicole Burgett with one each. UMHB totaled 15 shots in the match, led by Carlough, Rempe and
Kathryn Parker with three. The Cru limited Ozarks to just four shots, led by Tiffany Robinson with three.
Courtney Craig earned the win in the net for the Cru, allowing no goals with three saves. Megan Bradford took the loss for Ozarks, making seven saves with four allowed goals.
UMHB continues play in the 2015 American Southwest Conference Women's Soccer Championship Tournament. The Cru will host a first-round game on Tuesday, November 3
rd in a 6 p.m. match at the Cru Sports Plex in Belton. The winner of that contest will advance to the semifinal round on Friday, November 6
th.
