JACKSON, Miss. – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor women's soccer team earned a 3-0 win over Belhaven University Thursday afternoon in Jackson. The win improved the Cru to 2-1-1 on the season while the Blazers fell to o-4.
Sarah Rempe got UMHB on the board first, scoring off an assist from
Amanda Carlough in the 14th minute for a 1-0 Cru lead.
Kathryn Parker was next, giving the Cru an insurance goal in the 19
th minute for a 2-0 lead with an assist from
Allison Porter. UMHB retained that lead until the 69th minute, when Rempe scored her second goal of the contest and gave UMHB the 3-0 advantage.
UMHB totaled 22 shots in the contest, led by Parker and
Nicole Burgett with four each. The Cru also put 14 shots on-goal, where Burgett and Carlough each recorded three.
Morgan Prentice earned the win in the net for the Cru, making seven saves and recording a solo shutout in 90 minutes of play. UMHB outshot the Blazers 22-13 and took six corner kicks to the Blazers' one.
