BELTON, Texas – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor men's soccer team was edged 1-0 by Austin College Tuesday evening in Belton. The loss dropped the Cru to 4-2 on the season while the Roos moved to 4-1.
The contest went into halftime scoreless as UMHB outshot the Roos 7-1 in the first half. Austin College's Phillip Le scored the lone goal in the 53
rd minute off an assist from Thomas Quick, finding the left siding of the net. UMHB found a strong offensive surge late in the second half but was unable to score.
Logan Keeler led the Cru with four shots followed by
Caleb Almanza and
McKenna Cook with three. UMHB outshot the Roos 16-2 in the contest, putting seven shots on goal.
Javier Zaragoza took the loss for the Cru, giving up one goal in a full 90-minute contest. Joseph Khalaf earned the win for the Roos, making seven saves in the shutout.
The Cru returns to action Friday, September 16
th in a 4:30 p.m. match against Louisiana College at the Cru Sports Plex in Belton.
