BELTON, Texas – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor men's soccer team was edged 1-0 by Belhaven University Saturday evening in Belton. The loss dropped the Cru to 5-3 while the Blazers improved to 1-3-1 on the season.
Neither team was able to score until the 88
th minute when Nicolas Cornejo scored the game-winning goal for the Blazers.
Amani Colbert, the Schlotzsky's Lotz Better Player of the Game, led the Cru with four shots while
Logan Keeler had three and
Martin Lopez had two. UMHB totaled 14 shots while the Blazers had seven.
Javier Zaragoza took the loss for the Cru, allowing one goal with one save. Josh Gates earned the win for the Blazers, making six saves in the contest.
