Women's Soccer edges McMurry 1-0

ABILENE, Texas– The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor women's soccer team edged McMurry University 1-0 Thursday evening in Abilene. The Cru improved to 13-1-1 with the win and 9-0-1 in American Southwest Conference action. The War Hawks fell to 3-12 overall and 1-9 in league play.
 
Elissa Freberg scored the lone goal of the game, netting the game-winner off an assist from Madison Link in the 24th minute to put UMHB up by one. Chelsea Graham led the Cru with four shots while three other Crusaders added three. UMHB outshot the War Hawks 21-1 in the match, putting 14 shots on goal. Emmy McMaude earned the win in the goal for UMHB, as the Crusader defense did not allow a single shot on goal. Jordan Gregory took the loss for the War Hawks, making 13 saves with one goal allowed.
 
UMHB returns to action on Saturday, October 21st in a 1 p.m. match at Hardin-Simmons University in Abilene.
