BELTON, Texas– The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor volleyball team swept Howard Payne University Saturday afternoon in Belton, beating the Yellow Jackets 25-14, 25-12, 25-15. The win improved the Cru to 17-2 overall and 9-1 in American Southwest Conference action while the Yellow Jackets moved to 7-13 overall and 5-6 in league play.
 
Corinne Novak led the Cru with 10 kills, followed by Miranda Klein with nine. Natasha Evans led all athletes with 32 assists as UMHB hit .286 in the contest. Defensively, Haleigh Evans led the Cru with 12 digs followed by Klein with 11. Natasha Evans was UMHB's leading blocker, recording three block assists in the match. UMHB totaled 45 kills on 112 total attacks, adding 48 digs and three team blocks. Howard Payne totaled 20 kills on 102 attacks for a .029 hitting percentage, adding 51 digs and 19 assists.
 
UMHB returns to action on Tuesday, October 10^th in a 6 p.m. match at McMurry University in Abilene.
