BELTON, Texas – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor women's soccer team edged Hendrix College 1-0 in an overtime contest Sunday afternoon in Conway. The win improved the Cru to 3-1 on the season while the Warriors fell to 1-3.
UMHB outshot the Warriors 17-12 in regulation, but Hendrix goalkeeper Jordan Rausch made 10 saves to help the Warriors escape with a scoreless tie. The Cru recorded one more shot in overtime and UMHB goalkeeper
Emmy McMaude made one save before
Sarah Rempe finally found the back of the net in the 99
th minute to give the Cru a 1-0 win.
Rempe led the Cru with five shots while
Elissa Freberg and
Taylor Marques each added three. Rempe scored the lone goal in the contest off an assist from Marques.
Emmy McMaude ended the game with 98:35 in the goal, making five saves in the shutout win. Jordan Rausch took the loss for the Warriors, allowing one with 10 saves made.
UMHB returns to action on Thursday, September 14
th in a conference-opening 5 p.m. match at LeTourneau University in Longview.
