RICHARDSON, Texas – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor men's soccer team dropped a 3-1 decision to the University of Texas at Dallas Thursday evening in Richardson. The loss dropped the Cru to 8-3 overall and 4-2 in American Southwest Conference action while the Comets improved to 7-1-1 overall and 5-0 in league play.
Neither team was able to score in the first half, sending the contest into a scoreless halftime.
Seth Neveloff opened the second half with a UMHB goal, scoring off an assist from
Patrick Roach in the 48
th minute to put UMHB up by one. UT Dallas responded with back-to-back goals in the 61
st minute and 67
th minute to take a 2-0 lead. The Comets held that until the 87
th minute when Oliver Hamby sealed the match with the Comets' third goal.
Roach led the Cru with three shots as UMHB totaled 12 in the match. The Cru put seven of 12 shots on goal and took three corner kicks. UT Dallas also took a team-total 12 shots, putting six of those on goal.
Travis Aday took the loss for UMHB, playing the full 90 minutes with three goals allowed and three saves. Chase Therrien earned the win for the Comets, making six saves with one goal allowed.
UMHB returns to action on Saturday, October 6
th in a 3:30 p.m. match at Howard Payne University in Brownwood.
