Men’s Soccer edged by Ozarks

CLARKSVILLE, Ark.   – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor men's soccer team was edged 3-2 by University of the Ozarks in pouring rain Saturday afternoon in Clarksville. The loss drops the Cru to 6-2 on the season and 2-1 in ASC play while the Eagles moved to 1-6-1 and 1-3 in conference action.
 
Michael Luster gave Ozarks a lead in the 40th minute, hitting a left-footer off the pass from Thomas Ross to give UO the edge. Patrick Roach responded for UMHB, scoring back-to-back goals in the 55th and 64th minute to put UMHB up. Bradley Rice evened the contest in the 73rd minute before Luster scored his second goal of the contest in the 88th minute to give Ozarks the 3-2 edge. UMHB totaled 10 shots, putting eight on goal while the Eagles also put eight of their 11 shots on frame. Roach led the Cru with three shots, putting all three on goal. Travis Aday took the loss for UMHB, making five saves with three goals allowed. Logan Valestin earned the win for Ozarks, making six saves and allowing two goals.
 
UMHB returns to action on Thursday, September 27th in a 7:30 p.m. game against Belhaven University at the UMHB Soccer Fields in Belton.
