BELTON, Texas – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor men's soccer used an offensive surge in the second half to take a 3-0 win over Louisiana College Saturday afternoon in Belton. The win improved the Cru to 8-2 on the season and 4-1 in American Southwest Conference action while the Wildcats fell to 2-8 overall and 1-4 in league play.
Jason Goodin scored the game-winner for UMHB in the 56
th minute.
Patrick Roach quickly followed in the 61
st minute, scoring off an assist from
Steven Dang to put UMHB up by two.
Josh Bruton was UMHB's third goal-scorer, netting one off an assist from
Marcelo Gaitan in the 66
th minute.
Dang, Roach and
Seth Neveloff all led UMHB with four shots as the Cru totaled 24 in the contest. UMHB put 16 of its shots on frame and limited the Wildcats to just five shots in the match.
Travis Aday earned the win in the net for UMHB, playing 73 minutes with four saves. Evan Barker took the loss for the Wildcats, allowing three goals and making 13 saves in a full 90 minutes.
UMHB returns to action on Thursday, October 4
th in a 7:30 p.m. match at the University of Texas at Dallas in Richardson.
