BELTON, Texas – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor women's soccer team earned a 4-0 win over Louisiana College Saturday afternoon in Belton. The win improved the Cru to 6-2-2 on the season and 5-0 in American Southwest Conference action.
Madison Link put UMHB up early, netting the game-winner in the fourth minute off a double-assist from
Chelsea Graham and
Emily Blaettner. Graham scored an insurance goal for the Cru two minutes later, netting UMHB's second goal off another Blaettner assist. UMHB held that lead until the 23
rd minute when Graham scored her second goal of the day with the assist from
Bailey Aleman.
Elissa Freberg was the final Crusader to score, heading in a corner kick by Graham in the 63
rd minute.
Graham led UMHB with eight shots, two goals and two assists. Link added seven shots and one goal. UMHB totaled 20 shots, putting 13 on frame and limiting the Wildcats to just three shots in the match.
Emmy McMaude earned the win in the net for UMHB, making one save in the first half.
Marcella Lancon and
Haley Wilton split goalkeeper minutes in the second half.
UMHB returns to action on Thursday, October 4
th in a 5 p.m. match at the University of Texas at Dallas in Richardson.
