ATLANTA, Ga. – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor men's soccer team used a late first-half goal to take a 1-0 win over Covenant College Saturday night in Atlanta. The win improved the Cru to 4-0 on the season while Covenant fell to 3-1.
Steven Dang scored the game-winner for the Cru in the 41
st minute, heading in an assist from
Diego Valadez to secure UMHB's 1-0 win. Dang led the Cru with six shots, followed by
Patrick Roach with four. UMHB outshot Covenant 18-6 in the match, putting six shots on goal.
Travis Aday earned the win in the goal for UMHB, making one save in the full 90-minute contest. Paul Lemay took the loss for Covenant, allowing one goal with five saves. UMHB took six corner kicks in the match and allowed just one shot on goal.
The Cru returns to action on Thursday, September 13
th in a 7:30 p.m. match against East Texas Baptist at the UMHB Soccer Fields in Belton.
