ALPINE, Texas – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor volleyball team earned a 3-0 win over Sul Ross State University Tuesday evening in Alpine. The win improved the Cru to 12-4 on the season and 8-0 in American Southwest Conference action, while the Lobos fell to 8-8 overall and 1-5 in league play.
UMHB won the match in straight 25-14, 25-18, 25-10 sets.
Corinne Novak led the Cru with 11 kills while
Sarah Paolini added nine. UMHB hit .337 in the match with 41 kills on 98 total attacks.
Cory Jo Martin anchored UMHB's offense with 35 assists while
Miranda Klein and
Kayla Janikula combined for four service aces. Defensively,
Adrien Valdez led the Cru with 21 digs followed by
Jenna Gillean with 12. UMHB limited the Lobos to just 27 kills with a .045 percentage.
The Cru returns to action on Friday, October 4
th in a 6 p.m. match at Concordia University Texas in Austin.
