BELTON, Texas – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor women's soccer edged Howard Payne University 1-0 in double overtime Thursday evening in Belton.
UMHB put up 12 shots in the first half and 18 in the second, but could not score. Delaney Castor made 18 saves for the Yellow Jackets to send the contest into overtime. Kara Moore gave the Crusaders a scare in the 95th minute, but
Emmy McMaude came up with an incredible save to end the first overtime scoreless. UMHB played five minutes into the second overtime before
Kristen Burdick scored off a cross from
Grace Greenly to give UMHB the 1-0 win.

Grace Greenly all recorded five shots as UMHB totaled 32 in the contest.
Emmy McMaude earned the win for the Cru, making one save while Delaney Castor took the loss for the Yellow Jackets, making 18 saves.
The Cru improved to 6-5-1 on the season and 3-1 in American Southwest Conference action while the Yellow Jackets moved to 5-7-1 overall and 1-4 in league play. UMHB returns to action on Saturday, October 12
th in a 1 p.m. match against Sul Ross State University at the UMHB Soccer Fields in Belton.
