Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Women’s Soccer edges Sul Ross State 2-1

BELTON, Texas – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor women's soccer team edged Sul Ross State 2-1 Saturday afternoon in the Cru's final home game of the regular season.     
 
Sul Ross State took a lead in the 35th minute when Aylin Villalobos scored off an assist from Britney Berumen. The Lobos held that lead for just under two minutes before Maria Rico evened the contest in the 37th minute. Emily Blaettner scored the game-winner for UMHB in the 43rd minute, giving the Cru a 2-1 win.
 
Taylor Marques led the Cru with eight shots while Chelsea Graham added four. UMHB totaled 25 shots in the contest, putting 13 on frame. UMHB's defense allowed just four shots in the contest with Emmy McMaude earning the win in the net for the Cru. Alitzel Ybarra took the loss for the Lobos, allowing two goals and making 11 saves.
 
UMHB returns to action on Thursday, October 17th in a 5 p.m. match at Belhaven University in Jackson, Miss.
