ABILENE, Texas – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor women's soccer team edged McMurry University 1-0 Saturday evening in Abilene.
Saige Serigny netted the game-winner for the Cru in the 55
th minute, scoring off an assist from
Emily Blaettner and
Chelsea Graham for a 1-0 UMHB win. UMHB took eight shots in the contest, putting four on frame. The Cru limited the War Hawks to just two shots on goal, allowing 10 total shots in the contest. Graham,
Grace Greenly and
Dannah Fritschle all led the Cru with two shots each.
Emmy McMaude earned the shutout win in goal for UMHB, playing a full 90 minutes with two saves. Jordan Gregory and Cindy Villasana split time in the net for the War Hawks. Gregory made two saves while Villasana allowed one goal and made one save.
UMHB improved to 10-5-1 on the season and 8-1-0 in American Southwest Conference action with the win. The Cru returns to action on Monday, October 28
th in a 5 p.m. match at Hardin-Simmons University in Abilene.
