CLARKSVILLE, Ark – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor men's soccer team scored in the final two minutes of regulation to force overtime with University of the Ozarks Saturday afternoon in Clarksville, but fell 2-1 to the Eagles in overtime.
Charleus Emmanuel Ritch scored the go-ahead goal for the Eagles in the 69
th minute to break the scoring drought and put the Eagles up by one. Ozarks held that lead until the 89
th minute when
Marston Fisher scored the equalizer off an assist from
Nick Villanueva and forced the game into overtime. Emmanuel Ritch was the hero once again for the Eagles, netting the game-winner in the 93
rd minute to secure the win for the Eagles.
Five Crusaders combined for shots for UMHB while Emmanuel Ritch put up seven of the Eagles' 10. Logan Valestin earned the win for Ozarks, allowing one goal in the full 93-minute contest.
Dalton Lloyd and
Isai Olvera combined in goal for the Cru with each giving up one goal.
UMHB fell to 5-4-1 on the season and 2-2-0 in American Southwest Conference play while the Eagles improved to 7-2-1 overall and 3-1-0 in league action. The Cru returns to play on Thursday, October 10
th in a 7:30 p.m. match against Howard Payne University at the UMHB Soccer Fields in Belton.
