ROUND ROCK, Texas – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor men's soccer team closed the regular season Friday with a 2-2 tie at Concordia University Texas in Round Rock.
Marston Fisher put the Cru up 1-0 in the 11
th minute, scoring off an assist from
Rolando Nieto. UMHB held that lead until the 61
st minute when
Diego Valadez added an insurance goal for the Cru. Concordia Texas evened the contest with goals in the 79
th and 89
th minutes to even the game at 2-2.
Patrick Roach led the Cru with two shots as UMHB put five of their eight shots on frame. Concordia Texas took 21 shots with eight on frame.
Dalton Lloyd played the full 90 minutes for UMHB, allowing two goals with six saves while Erik Rodriguez played the full contest for the Tornados, allowing two goals and making three saves.
UMHB finished the regular season at 10-5-2 overall and 7-3-1 in American Southwest Conference action. The Cru earned the No. 3 seed in the American Southwest Conference tournament and the right to host a quarterfinal contest. UMHB will host East Texas Baptist University on Tuesday, November 5
th in an 8 p.m. contest at the UMHB Soccer Field in Belton.
