BELTON, Texas – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor men's soccer team beat East Texas Baptist University 2-0 Tuesday evening in a 2019 ASC Men's Soccer Championship Tournament Quarterfinal. UMHB will now advance to the semifinal round of the tournament.
Seth Neveloff put the Cru up 1-0 in the 13
th minute, netting a pass from
Rolando Nieto for a 1-0 UMHB lead. UMHB held that lead through the first half, limiting the Tigers to the just two shots in the first half. Nieto added an insurance goal for the Cru late in the second half, converting a penalty kick in the 81
st minute for the 2-0 UMHB win.
Neveloff led the Cru with three shots while UMHB put eight of 13 shots on frame.
Dalton Lloyd earned the win for the Cru, making two diving saves with four total saves in the shutout. Justin Groves took the loss for the Tigers, surrendering two goals with six saves.
UMHB advances to face Concordia University Texas in a semifinal match on Friday, November 8
th at 2 p.m. on the campus of the University of Texas at Dallas.
