ROUND ROCK, Texas – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor women's soccer team closed out the regular season with a 2-0 win over Concordia University Texas Friday evening in Round Rock.
Dannah Fritschle was the hero for the Cru, scoring a pair of unassisted goals for the 2-0 win. Fritschle scored first at the 1:35 mark, then added another goal in the ninth minute to put the Cru up 2-0. Fritschle and
Rachel Bloom led the Cru with three shots each as UMHB put nine of 16 shots on frame. The Cru limited Concordia Texas to 12 shots with only two on target.
Emmy McMaude earned the win for the Cru, making two saves in the shutout. Sofie Gomez took the loss for the Tornados, giving up two goals and making seven saves.
UMHB finished the regular season at 11-6-1 overall and 9-2 in American Southwest Conference action, earning the No. 2 seed in the 2019 ASC Women's Soccer Tournament. UMHB will host a quarterfinal match against Howard Payne University on Thursday, November 5
th at the UMHB Soccer Field in Belton. The semifinal and final games of the tournament will be played at No. 1 seed Hardin-Simmons University in Abilene.
