BELTON, Texas – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor men's soccer team earned a 3-0 win over LeTourneau University Thursday evening in Belton, opening American Southwest Conference action at 1-0. UMHB moved to 4-2-1 on the season while the YellowJackets fell to 2-4-2 overall with a 0-1 record in ASC play.
Seth Neveloff gave the Cru an early lead, scoring in the eighth minute off an assist from
Brody Conley. UMHB held a 1-0 lead through the first half, out-shooting the YellowJackets 11-6 in the period. Conley added an insurance goal for the Cru in the 50
th minute, before
Rolando Nieto scored off a free kick in the 64
th minute to put the Cru up by three. UMHB limited the YellowJackets to just seven shots on goal. Nieto led the Cru with five shots while Conley added three.
Isai Olvera earned the win in the net for UMHB, making seven saves in the shutout. Diego Berlingeri took the loss for the YellowJackets, making eight saves with three goals allowed.
UMHB returns to action on Saturday, September 28
th in a 7:30 p.m. match against East Texas Baptist University at the UMHB Soccer Fields in Belton.
