BELTON, Texas – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor women's soccer team took a 2-0 shutout win over East Texas Baptist University Saturday evening in Belton. The win improved the Cru to 4-4-1 on the season and 2-0 in American Southwest Conference action while the Tigers fell to 3-5-1 on the season and 0-2-0 in league play.
Dannah Fritschle put the Cru up 1-0 in the 20
th minute, scoring off an assist from
Grace Greenly for a 1-0 UMHB lead. UMHB held that lead through halftime before
Brynna Gardner netted an insurance goal for the Cru, scoring off another assist from Greenly in the 47
th minute. UMHB outshot the Tigers 10-9 in the match, putting six shots on frame.
Taylor Marques led the Cru with three shots while Frischle added two.
Emmy McMaude and
Marcella Lancon split time in goal for UMHB. McMaude played 61 minutes with three saves while Lancon went 29 minutes with two saves. Maddie Rea took the loss for the Yellow Jackets, making four saves with two goals allowed in a full 90-minute contest.
UMHB returns to action on Thursday, October 3
rd in a 5 p.m. match at the University of Texas at Dallas in Richardson.
