BELTON, Texas – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor volleyball team earned a 3-0 sweep over Howard Payne Friday evening in Belton. The win improved the Cru to 14-0 on the season and 9-0 in American Southwest Conference action while the Yellow Jackets fell to 2-11 overall and 1-7 in league play.
UMHB earned a commanding 25-14, 25-12, 25-13 win over the Yellow Jackets.
Hannah Frasca led the Cru with 12 kills while
Kylie Metcalf added nine.
Sarah Grace Merry and
Lauren Williams each added seven kills as UMHB totaled 47 in the match. The Cru hit .345 against the Yellow Jackets and limited HPU to a .101 hitting percentage.
Ella Brunson led the Cru with 31 assists while
Alli Pierce added 10. Defensively,
Alyssa Christiansen led the Cru with 11 digs followed by
Hannah Frasca with seven. UMHB totaled 64 digs and two team blocks in the match.
The Cru returns to action tomorrow in an 11 a.m. match against Sul Ross State University at the Mayborn Campus Center in Belton.
