BELTON, Texas – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor women's soccer team edged McMurry University
2-0 Thursday night in Belton. UMHB moved to 11-2-1 overall and 6-1-1 in American Southwest Conference action while McMurry moved to 10-3-2 overall and 5-1-2 in league play.
Kristen Burdick scored in the 11
th minute on a penalty kick awarded from a McMurry handball, giving the Cru a one-goal lead. UMHB extended that lead with a goal from
Mackenzie Worthy in the 76
th minute. Worthy scored off an assist from
Chandler Jackson to put the Cru up 2-0.
The Cru totaled ten shots in the contest with six shots on the frame.
Grace Greenly and
Ashley Vensel led UMHB with two shots each.
Reagan Williams was in the net for UMHB, securing the shutout with four saves. The Cru's defense held the War Hawks to only five shots.
UMHB returns to action
on Saturday, October 23rd in
a 5:00 p.m. contest against Hardin-Simmons University at the UMHB Soccer Fields in Belton.
