BELTON, TX – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor women's basketball team dropped a 74-61 decision to Trinity University (Texas) Sunday afternoon in Belton. Both teams closed the last weekend with a 1-1 season record.
The Cru shared back-and-forth baskets with the Tigers, ending the 1st quarter tied 14-14. UMHB came back in the second quarter to take the led with a difference as big as seven points. The Cru held on, leading 31-28 at the half.
UMHB used a six-point run to expand that lead, but the Tigers fought back, ending the third quarter with a two-point advantage. Trinity went on an early eight-point run in the fourth and took the win 74-61.
Ashley Faux and Kaitlyn Kollmorgen led the Cru with 10 points each followed by Cheyanne Bonilla and Arieona Rosborough both with eight. Defensively, Kasey Jo Hinton was UMHB's leader with six rebounds while Catherine Kaiser and Kenidi White recorded two steals each.
UMHB returns to action on Friday, November 26th at Colorado College in Colorado Springs.
