AUSTIN, Texas – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor men's soccer team earned a 3-1 win over Concordia University Texas Friday evening in Austin. The win improved the Cru to 6-0-1 on the season while the Tornados fell to 3-2.
Concordia took a lead in the 15
th minute when Victor Gomez scored on an assist from Adrian Guerrero. UMHB responded with a pair of quick goals to open the second half.
Nick Villanueva, the Tyler Jermstad State Farm Player of the Game, scored off an assist from
Jordan Beechum at 50:13 before
Harper Roland scored the go-ahead goal for the Cru at 51:53.
Seth Neveloff added an insurance goal for UMHB in the 79
th minute and sealed the Cru's 3-1 win.
Patrick Roach led the Cru with five shots while Neveloff and Roland each added two. UMHB totaled 13 shots in the match while the Tornados had just nine.
Dalton Lloyd and
Ethan Rimbey split time in the net for UMHB, each making one save.
UMHB returns to action on Thursday, March 25
th in a 7 p.m. match against Hardin-Simmons University at the UMHB Soccer Fields in Belton.
