BELTON, Texas –
Seth Neveloff and
Price Peden led the UMHB Men's Soccer team to victory Saturday evening in Belton as the Cru outscored the University of St. Thomas (Houston) 3-1.
Neveloff scored the go-ahead goal for the Cru just before halftime at 43:12. UMHB outshot St. Thomas 4-2 in the first half and did not allow a shot on frame. Dany Ramirez scored the equalizer for the Celts in the 56
th minute. That score held until the 79
th minute when Peden scored the go-ahead goal for UMHB. Neveloff added another unassisted goal in the 87
th minute, giving the Cru a 3-1 win over previously undefeated University of St. Thomas.
UMHB totaled 11 shots with six on frame while the Celts put just one of their eight shots on goal.
Dalton Lloyd earned the win in the net for the Cru, playing a full 90 minutes. Rodrigo Lazo and Dylan Maldonado split time in the Celts' net. Lazo allowed three goals with one save while Maldonado added two saves in his 16 minutes of action.
The Cru returns to action on Friday, September 17
th in a 7:30 p.m. contest at Trinity University in San Antonio.
