BELTON, Texas – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor women's soccer team earned a 3-0 win over the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point Friday evening in Belton. UMHB improved to 4-1 on the season while the Pointers dropped to 2-5.
Grace Greenly scored a pair of goals in the first half to put UMHB up 2-0. Greenly found the back of the net in the 21
st minute and 29
th minute. UMHB outshot the Pointers 8-2 in the first half, putting four shots on frame.
Ashley Vensel added one more goal for the Cru in the 77
th minute, scoring off a ricocheted shot from
Maria Rico for a 3-0 UMHB lead.
UMHB totaled 10 shots in the contest, putting six on frame. Greenly, Vensel and
Gabby Gibson led the Cru with two shots each while Greenly and Vensel put both of their shots on frame.
Ainsley Westlake and
Reagan Williams split time in the net for UMHB, combining for three total saves.
Kristen Burdick and Rico both recorded assists for the Cru. UMHB gave up just four total shots in the contest.
The Cru returns to action in a 7 p.m. match against Austin College tomorrow in Belton. UMHB will honor graduating seniors
