LONGVIEW, Texas – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor Women's Soccer team earned a 3-1 win at LeTourneau University Saturday evening in Longview. The win improved the Cru to 6-2 on the season and 1-1 in American Southwest Conference action while the YellowJackets fell to 1-6-1 overall and 0-2-0 in league play.
Bailey Schoener gave UMHB a lead in the 11
th minute with an unassisted goal.
Maria Rico scored another for the Cru, finding the back of the net in the 25
th minute. UMHB held that lead until the 43
rd minute when LeTourneau's Reagan Sandford scored on an assist from Evelyn Argueta. The Cru outshot the YellowJackets 18-2 in the first half, allowing just one shot on frame.
Kaileigh Duncan scored the Cru's third goal in the 77
th minute on an assist from Velez.
Grace Greenly led the Cru with nine shots while
Maria Rico added six. UMHB totaled 31 shots in the contest with 19 on frame. LeTourneau totaled just three shots in the contest with two on-goal.
Ainsley Westlake and
Reagan Williams split time in the net for the Cru while Kiersten Reeser made 16 saves for the YellowJackets.
UMHB returns to action on Thursday, September 30
th in a 5:00 p.m. match against University of the Ozarks at the UMHB Soccer Field in Belton.
