BELTON, Texas – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor women's soccer team earned a 3-0 win over McMurry University Thursday evening in Belton. The win improved the Cru to 13-0-1 on the season and 6-0-1 in league play while the War Hawks fell to 6-5-2 overall and 4-2-0 in American Southwest Conference action.
Mackenzie Worthy gave the Cru an early lead in the 16
th minute, scoring off a double-assist from
Kelsey White and
Maren Fields for a 1-0 UMHB lead. UMHB added back-to-back goals in the 36
th and 37
th minutes for a 3-0 lead.
Natalie Mason scored an unassisted goal at 35:33 then assisted an
Abigail Hickman goal at 36:37 for the three-score advantage.
Mason added one more goal in the second half for the 4-0 UMHB win.
Gabby Gibson led the Cru with four shots, followed by six other Crusaders with two each. UMHB totaled 20 shots in the contest with 13 on frame. McMurry had just one shot in the contest with a complete second-half shutout from the Cru.
UMHB returns to action on Saturday, October 22
nd in a 5:00 p.m. match against conference rival Hardin-Simmons.
