RICHARDSON, Texas – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor volleyball team fell to UT Dallas 3-0 Friday night in Richardson. The loss dropped the Cru to 15-7 overall and 8-5 in league play while the Comets improved to 14-5 on the season and 10-2 in American Southwest Conference action.
The Comets took an early lead in the first set. UMHB used a four-point run followed by a three-point run to take a 14-13 lead. The advantage remained within two until the Comets used a 4-1 run to take the 25-22 victory. The Cru fought back in the second set, taking the first lead. UT Dallas used a pair of five point runs to take over the set 25-18. The Comets took the advantage in the final set and never let go of it, cruising to a 25-17 win.
Hannah Frasca and
Kaylie Vasil led the Cru with six kills each. Defensively,
Gracie Nichols led with 12 digs while Frasca and
Jenci Seahorn added three blocks.
UMHB returns to action Saturday, October 21
st in a 1:00 p.m. match against LeTourneau in Longview.
