BELTON, Texas – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor women's soccer team scored four unanswered goals in the second half of action to earn the program's tenth consecutive win Thursday evening in Belton. The Cru improved the season start to 10-0 with a 3-0 record in American Southwest Conference action while the Lobos fell to 3-4-1 overall and 0-2-1 in league play.
UMHB was the first on the board with a
Mackenzie Worthy goal in the 11
th minute. The Lobos scored the equalizer just four minutes later, taking the game into halftime with a 1-1 tie.
Kennedy Harris netted the game-winner for the Cru in the 51
st minute, scoring off a
Kelsey White assist.
Maria Rico added an insurance goal just six minutes later with an assist from Harris before White scored on a pass from
Kelli Diaz for a 4-1 Cru advantage.
Natalie Mason was the final Crusader to score, putting a fifth UMHB goal on the scoreboard in the 84
th minute.
UMHB outshot the Lobos 16-5 in the contest, putting seven shots on frame.
Tanner Jarzombek and Worthy led with three shots each while Rico and Mason each added two.
Ainsley Westlake and
Ashlyn Wells split time in the goal for the Cru. Westlake made two saves with one goal allowed in her 45 minutes of action while Wells added one save in her half.
UMHB returns to action Saturday, October 8th in a 5:00 p.m. contest against Howard Payne in Belton.
