Women’s Soccer plays Howard Payne to scoreless draw

BELTON, Texas – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor women's soccer team played Howard Payne to a scoreless draw in regulation play Saturday evening in Belton. UMHB moved to 10-0-1 on the season and 3-0-1 in American Southwest Conference action while the Yellow Jackets moved to 5-5-2 overall and 1-2-1 in league play.
 
UMHB totaled 10 shots in the first half, limiting the Yellow Jackets to just one. The Cru dominated possession, keeping the ball on the offensive side of the field for the majority of the half. UMHB came out in the second half in similar fashion, putting up several offensive surges against the HPU back line. The Cru added seven second-half shots and limited HPU to just three, totaling 17 total shots in the contest.
 
Seven different Crusaders recorded a duo of shots for the Cru while Constance White and Annika Engstrom put both of their shots on goal. Reagan Williams pitched the shutout in goal for the Cru, making two saves in the full 90 minutes.
 
UMHB returns to road action in a pair of ASC matches next week. The Cru faces UT Dallas on Thursday, October 13th in a 5 p.m. contest before traveling to University of the Ozarks for a 1 p.m. kickoff on Saturday, October 15th.
