MARSHALL, Texas – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor men's basketball team fell to East Texas Baptist University 72-64 Saturday afternoon in Marshall.
 
East Texas Baptist opened the game with a 10-2 run to establish a nine-point advantage at the 16:04 mark. UMHB answered with a five-point run to cut the gap to four. Play remained even until the final seven minutes when the Tigers used a 13-6 run to create an advantage as big as ten and cruise to a 37-31 lead going into the half.
 
UMHB came into the second half strong, going on an 8-2 run to cut the gap to two. The Tigers began to pull away at the 14:53 mark creating an eight-point lead with 11 minutes to go. The Cru responded with a 9-1 run to knot-up the contest 53-53 at the 7:36 mark.
 
East Texas Baptist took the lead on a Darry Moore field goal and held on, cruising to a 72-64 win from there. 
Ty Prince led the Cru with 17 points followed by 
Josiah Johnson with 14 and 
Luke Feely with 10. Prince also led the Cru with eight rebounds, followed by 
Luke Feely with six.
 
UMHB shot 45.3 percent in the contest with 24 field goals and four three-pointers. The Cru had 14 points off the bench with seven points off turnovers in the contest.
 
UMHB returns to action on Thursday, December 15
th in a 7:30 p.m. contest against Howard Payne University at the Mayborn Campus Center in Belton.
