ABILENE, Texas – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor women's soccer team opened the 2022 season with a 3-0 shutout over the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater Thursday evening in Abilene.
UMHB took a lead in the 21
st minute when
Kelsey White scored on an assist from
Mackenzie Worthy. The Cru extended their lead with a goal by Worthy off on assist by K. White in the second half.
Constance White gave UMHB an insurance goal in the 86
th minute with assists from
Kristen Burdick and
Carly Van Essen. The Cru defense held the Warhawks to just five shots to claim the 3-0 shutout victory.
Maria Rico led the Cru with three shots and two on frame, while K. White and Burdick both totaled two shots.
Reagan Williams made one save in her 90-minute shutout.
UMHB returns to action on Saturday, September 3
rd in a 5:30 p.m. match against College of St. Scholastica. The game will be played on the campus of Hardin-Simmons University in Abilene.
