BELTON, Texas – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor women's soccer team matched the program's best opening record with its seventh consecutive win Wednesday evening in Belton. The Cru earned a 2-0 decision over Southwestern University to move to 7-0 while the Pirates fell to 1-2-3 with the loss.

Tanner Jarzombek gave the Cru an early lead, scoring on an assist form Maren Fields in the sixth minute. Mackenzie Worthy added an insurance goal for UMHB in the 29th minute off a Carly Van Essen assist to put the Cru up by two scores. UMHB held that lead through the first half, giving up just two shots in the period. UMHB continued the shutout in the second half of play to secure the two-goal victory.

UMHB outshot the Pirates 15-5 in the contest, putting six on frame. Jarzombek led the Cru with four shots, followed by Worthy with two. Defensively, Kristen Burdick and Fields played 90 minutes on UMHB's stifling back line while goalkeeper Reagan Williams made three saves to preserve the shutout.
