BELTON, Texas – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor men's soccer team overcame a two-goal deficit to earn a 3-2 win over Trinity University Friday evening in Belton. The win improved the Cru to 3-1-1 on the season while the Tigers fell to 1-3-2. Sophomore forward
Ethan Dacaret made his return to UMHB after a playing stint with the Philippines U-19 team, scoring the game-winning goal for the Cru.
Kyle Davis scored the go-ahead goal for the Tigers, netting a score in the 12
th minute for a 1-0 lead. Jack Downes added a score for the Tigers in the 41
st minute, scoring off an assist form Chen Adjei for a 2-0 advantage.
Ethan Dacaret cut the gap to one, scoring off a
Francisco Maldonado assist in the 67
th minute. The Cru followed that with back-to-back in the 81
st and 82
nd minutes to take a 3-2 lead.
Francisco Maldonado scored on a free kick before Dacaret scored his second goal of the contest 26 seconds later to take the lead. The Tigers fought back hard with an offensive surge late but the Cru defense held, fighting off late corner kicks for the win.
Trinity outshot the Cru 15-8 in the contest, putting 10 on frame. UMHB goalkeeper
Dalton Lloyd made eight saves in the contest, holding a shutout in the second half for the win.
Ethan Dacaret and
Patrick Roach led the Cru with three shots each, both putting two on frame.

th in 7 p.m. contest at Southwestern University in Georgetown.
