BELTON, Texas – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor women's soccer team shut out University of the Ozarks 3-0 Thursday evening in Belton. The Cru continues on a historical run, improving to 12-0 on the season and 4-0 in American Southwest Conference action. The Eagles fell to 7-5 overall and 1-3 in league play.
The first half played scoreless while UMHB outshot the Eagles 12-0 with three shots on goal. The Cru got on the board in the 57
th minute when
Jayme Dowell scored on a pass from
Ashley Vensel.
Kennedy Harris added a second score from the box at the 76
th minute mark to extend the lead. Three minutes later,
Kaitlynn Neill scored her first collegiate goal on a free kick from 30 yards out to bring UMHB ahead 3-0.
UMHB totaled 34 shots with 15 on frame, while the Cru backline did not allow the Eagles to a single shot.
Mackenzie Worthy led UMHB with seven shots while Dowell recorded five shots with four on goal.
Ainsley Westlake started in the net for the Cru, earning her sixth win of the season.
UMHB returns to action October 14
th in a 5:00 p.m. contest against UT Dallas in Belton.
