MARSHALL, Texas – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor baseball team dropped a 10-1 decision to East Texas Baptist University Friday evening in Marshall.
East Texas Baptist got on the board in the second inning off a home run from Jase Jones. The Tigers held that lead until the fifth inning when Ben Lea homered for a 3-0 Tiger margin. ETBU tacked on two more runs in the sixth inning, scoring two off a two-RBI double from Nicolas Chavez to widen the gap to five runs. The Tigers scored one more run in the seventh inning before the Cru got on the board in the eighth inning with an RBI double from
Sam Muniga.
East Texas Baptist added four more runs in the eighth inning to secure the 10-1 win. UMHB totaled four hits in the contest, led by
Kaden deBerardinis with two each.
Andrew Acierni started the game on the mound for the Cru, giving up five runs on six hits with five strikeouts.

Erick Roberts all pitched in relief.
UMHB closes the series in a 1 p.m. doubleheader tomorrow in Marshall.
