Women’s Soccer earns 4-0 win over Texas Lutheran

BELTON, Texas – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor women's soccer team earned a 4-0 win over Texas Lutheran University Friday evening in Belton. The win improved the Cru to 5-0 on the season while the Bulldogs moved to 3-2-2. 

Mackenzie Worthy and Morgen Rathmell teamed up for a pair of first-half goals for the Cru. Worthy scored in the 31st minute off an assist from Rathmell before Rathmell found the back of the net off a Worthy assist in the 42nd minute. UMHB totaled 10 shots in the first half, led by Worthy with three. The Crusader defense allowed just one shot off a free kick in the first 45 minutes of action. 

UMHB added two more goals in the second half to secure the 4-0 win. Worthy added her second goal of the game in the 53rd minute, scoring a penalty kick shot into the top left corner. Ashley Vensel added the Cru's final goal, scoring an unassisted goal in the 65th minute. 

Worthy, Vensel and Constance White led the Cru with four shots each while Natalie Mason added three. UMHB totaled 22 shots in the contest with 12 on frame. The Bulldogs were limited to just three total shots with only two on frame. 

Reagan Williams and Ainsley Westlake each played one half in the net with both goalkeepers making one save each. 

UMHB returns to action on Saturday, September 23rd in a 7 p.m. contest against the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point at the UMHB Soccer Field in Belton.
