SAN ANTONIO, Texas – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor women's soccer team earned a 1-0 win over Trinity University Monday evening in San Antonio. The win improved the Cru to 7-0 on the season as the UMHB pitched its fifth shutout of the year.
The contest played for 12:32 before lightning in the area forced a weather delay. The game stalled for over an hour and a half until it resumed with a UMHB corner kick.
Ashley Vensel scored less than nine minutes into the restart to give the Cru a 1-0 lead. UMHB held on the rest of the way, maintaining the one-goal margin to secure the win.
Mackenzie Worthy led the Cru with four shots, followed by Vensel with three. UMHB totaled 11 shots in the contest with four on frame.
Reagan Williams earned the win in the net for the Cru. Williams made six saves in the full 90-minute shutout.
UMHB returns to action on Thursday, September 28
th in a 5 p.m. contest against East Texas Baptist University at the UMHB Soccer Field in Belton.
