BELTON, Texas – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor women's soccer team earned a 2-0 win over LeTourneau University Thursday evening in Belton. The win improved the Cru to 8-2-1 on the season and 2-1 in American Southwest Conference play while the YellowJackets fell to 1-9-1 overall and 0-4 in conference action.
Ella Wheeless gave UMHB a lead in the 12
th minute, one-touching a corner kick from
Kaitlynn Neill for the 1-0 margin.
Natalie Mason followed that less than six minutes later, scoring off a pass from
Morgen Rathmell to put the Cru up by two. UMHB totaled 13 shots in the first frame, led by Mason and
Kelsey White with three each.
UMHB outshot the YellowJackets 11-1 in the second half, putting a total of six shots on frame.
Morgan Oliver and
Emma Edwards split time in the net for the Cru, each recording one save. Mason led the Cru with five total shots, putting four on frame while
Kelsey White and
Kennedy Harris each added four shots on goal.
The Cru returns to action on Saturday, October 12
th in a 5 p.m. contest against East Texas Baptist University at the UMHB Soccer Field in Belton.
