BELTON, Texas – University of Mary Hardin-Baylor volleyball won its final home match of the season against UT Dallas 3-0 on Friday evening. UMHB's season record improves to 20-6, while UT Dallas falls to 7-8.
The match began with a 25-19 Cru first-set victory, sealed by 17 UMHB kills. The Cru jumped to an early 10-2 lead in the second set after a seven-point run consisting of two kills from
Baylee Mobley, one kill from
Kendall Harrington and a
Caiden Lasala service ace. The Comets responded late in the set cutting the lead and knotting the game at 23. A kill from Harrington and a UT Dallas attack error put the Cru ahead by two, winning the set in extra points 26-24. Set three was in the hands of the Cru until the Comets went on a four-point streak, tying the game at 17. UMHB answered and closed out the match with a 25-22 victory.
Kendall Harrington and
Baylee Mobley, each with a .346 attacking percentage, added double-doubles on the night. Harrington tallied 11 kills and 12 assists, while Mobley tacked on 11 kills and 12 digs.
Caiden Lasala was the leading defensive Crusader with 15 digs.
UMHB travels to Houston on Friday, November 1
st to play University of California, Santa Cruz at 3:00 PM.
