BELTON, Texas - The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor women's soccer team dropped a one-goal decision to Hardin-Simmons University Saturday evening in Belton. The loss dropped the Cru to 10-3-2 on the season and 4-2 in American Southwest Conference action while the Cowgirls improved to 14-1-2 overall and 7-0 in league play.
UMHB outshot the Cowgirls 7-4 in the first half, putting two total shots on frame. Kennedy Harris and Morgen Rathmell led the Cru with a trio of first-half shots while Morgan Oliver made two saves in the net.
Gabby Aviles put the Cowgirls on top in the 65th minute, scoring off a pass from Kirsten Bush for a 1-0 lead. Neither team was able to score again, ending the contest in a 1-0 HSU win.
UMHB outshot the Cowgirls 13-7 in the contest, putting six shots on frame. Rathmell ended the night with a team-high four shots, putting three on frame.
UMHB returns to action on Thursday, October 31st in a 5 p.m. contest at East Texas Baptist University in Marshall.
