BROWNWOOD, Texas – University of Mary Hardin-Baylor women's soccer defeated Howard Payne University 2-0 in a Saturday evening match. The Cru's overall record improves to 7-2-1 and 1-1 in conference. Howard Payne falls to a 4-6-1 overall record with a conference record of 1-2-0.
Kennedy Harris started the match for the Cru with a 2nd minute goal to gain the early lead over the Yellow Jackets. That score was left unanswered by Howard Payne for the remainder of the half. UMHB took eight shots in the first 45 minutes and held the Yellow Jackets to just three with no shots on goal. In the second half, Constance White added a 76th minute goal off an assist from Kaitlynn Neil
to put the Cru up 2-0. Howard Payne never responded.
Kelsey White and Arianna Vazquez led the Cru in shots taken, each tallying three. Kelsey White and Constance White both added two shots on goal. Emma Edwards holds the win in the net after playing 90 minutes and recording three saves.
UMHB returns to Cru Soccer Field on Thursday, October 10th at 5:00p.m. in a match against LeTourneau.
