BELTON, Texas – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor men's soccer team took down the Roos of Austin College in a 2-1 battle Thursday evening in Belton. The Cru improved its record to 2-2-1 on the season while the Roos fell to 1-4-0 on the year.
Ethan Dacaret scored the go-ahead goal for the Cru in the 26
th minute, netting a free kick from just outside the box for the score.
Xjavier Martinez added an insurance goal in the 29
th minute, finding the top right corner off a pass from
Karsen Macias.
UMHB outshot the Roos 9-1 in the first half, putting six shots on frame and limiting Austin College to just one.
The Roos scored one goal in the contest when Matheus Braid converted a free kick for a score but the Cru defense held on for the 2-1 win.
Xjavier Martinez led the Cru with four total shots, putting two on frame.
Sawyer Young and
Aidan Aguilera both followed with two shots each.
Hayden Owens is credited with the win in the net, making three saves on the night.

th, taking on McMurry University at 7:30 PM.
