BELTON, Texas – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor men's soccer team shut out the McMurry University Warhawks in a three-goal win Saturday night in Belton. The Cru's record improved to 3-2-1 on the season while McMurry fell to 2-2-1.
Xjavier Martinez kick-started the trio of goals in the first half off of an assist from Aiden Aguilera. Karsen Macias followed immediately after with an unassisted shot to the back of the net in the 20th minute. Peighton Raisey followed, tallying his first goal of the season for the third and final score of the game.
The Cru put up 17 shots on the night, holding McMurry to just one. Karsen Macias led UMHB in total shots with three while two other Crusaders each added two. Hayden Owens earned the win in the net, playing 75 minutes. Ethan Hilliard also made an appearance, closing the game in the net for the Cru.
UMHB returns to action on Friday, September 20th in a 7 p.m. contest against Trinity University (Texas) on Friday, September 20th.
